Disability is NOT inability! These words were vividly demonstrated at this afternoon’s The Dorothy Springer Trust Graduation ceremony. I delivered the keynote address to the graduands who have demonstrated extraordinary resilience and are moving into the job market, equipped to prove to the world that indeed disability is not ability! After the ceremony, I joined Dr Abs Dumbuya and other guests to open the new health centre for resident pupils at the Cheshire Home for Children with Disabilities. One of the highlights of today’s event was confirmation that in partnership with the Dorothy Springer Trust, Freetown City Council plans to open a dedicated #DisabilityDesk that will facilitate fully incorporating persons living with disabilities in our vision to #TransformFreetown #TransformLives.
